CRAFT TOOLKIT WORKSHOP BRIEF
IIT Kharagpur in Collaboration with DCH
IIT Kharagpur, in collaboration with the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, is organized a Craft Toolkit Workshop with selected artisans from across India. The workshop will focus on (a) documenting craft processes, tools used, materials, and production methods, as well as (b) interactions with experts, faculty, and researchers. The aim is to (i) support documentation, (ii) toolkit development & recommendation, (iii) testing, (iv) future learning material development, (v) design and craft database development, and (vi) possible market and design linkages.

SHE INNOVATES 2026
She Innovates 2026, hosted by the Rajendra Mishra School of Engineering Entrepreneurship (RMSoEE) at Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, brought together a strong community of women innovators from across disciplines. Held on 5–6 March 2026, the event focused on transforming ideas into actionable solutions across key social, technological, and sustainability themes.
The competition saw participation from over 160 teams, including students, faculty, and staff, competing across four tracks: Social and Inclusive Innovation, Sustainable and Green Solutions, Smart Systems and Institutional Innovation, and Emerging Technologies and Entrepreneurship. Each track addressed real-world challenges with practical and scalable solutions.
Teams presented their ideas through structured pitches, followed by in-depth discussions with mentors and evaluators. For each track, three awards were presented: the Grand Changemaker Award, Excellence in Innovation Award, and Social & Sustainable Impact Award, ensuring recognition of both innovation and real-world impact.
The award ceremony was held at Netaji Auditorium as part of International Women’s Day celebrations, where awards were presented by Prof. Suman Chakraborty and Dr. Bhaskar Bhowmick. The ceremony marked not just the conclusion of the competition but a celebration of women-led ideas driving meaningful change and creating lasting impact.


Launch of RMSoEE Newsletter – Udyomita
On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2026, the Rajendra Mishra School of Engineering Entrepreneurship (RMSoEE) at Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur launched its inaugural newsletter Udyomita, marking a significant step in advancing innovation, entrepreneurship, and institutional outreach. The launch, led by Prof. Suman Chakraborty, highlighted RMSoEE’s growing role in shaping entrepreneurial ecosystems.
Udyomita serves as a dynamic platform showcasing research, startup success stories, student achievements, and academic initiatives. In its March 2026 inaugural issue, Dr. Bhaskar Bhowmick emphasized RMSoEE’s vision of fostering innovation that blends empathy with execution to solve real-world challenges.
Designed for students, faculty, alumni, and industry, the newsletter strengthens collaboration and knowledge sharing. Launched on International Women’s Day, it reinforces RMSoEE’s commitment to women entrepreneurship, leadership, and inclusive innovation—positioning Udyomita as a key platform for insights, inspiration, and impact.


Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship Challenge 2026
The Rajendra Mishra School of Engineering Entrepreneurship (RMSoEE) at Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur organized the Cultural & Creative Entrepreneurship Challenge to encourage aspiring innovators, creators, and entrepreneurs to transform ideas into impactful ventures. The program focused on celebrating creativity, culture, and community-driven solutions while fostering entrepreneurial thinking among participants.
The challenge invited individuals and teams to pitch innovative ideas that combined cultural expression with business potential and social impact. Participants explored themes such as creative industries, cultural preservation, and community engagement, presenting solutions that were both innovative and scalable.
With a structured pitching format and expert evaluation, the event provided a platform for participants to refine their ideas, receive mentorship, and build practical execution strategies. The registration process concluded on 14 November 2026, attracting strong interest from students and young innovators.
Overall, the challenge strengthened RMSoEE’s vision of promoting creative entrepreneurship and empowering individuals to build meaningful, culture-driven ventures.
